Grateful for the Spotlight: KickIt Recovery Wear Featured on ABC 7 MySuncoast

I’m still beaming with gratitude after seeing KickIt featured on ABC 7 MySuncoast News.

As a Bradenton native, cancer survivor, and founder of KickIt, it was incredibly meaningful to share our mission right here in my hometown — and to see our story reaching more women who might need comfort and dignity through recovery.

The segment beautifully captured why wearing comfortable clothes during medical treatment matters, why KickIt exists and what makes us different. It wasn’t just about clothing — it was about the healing journey and how something as simple as what we wear can deeply affect how we feel during treatment and recovery.

Sharing My Story and Why Pajamas for Cancer Patients is So Important with the Community

When I spoke with the MySuncoast team, I shared how KickIt started — from a very personal place.

After being diagnosed with advanced-stage cervical cancer, I found myself living in oversized gowns and medical wear that stripped away my sense of self. I remember looking in the mirror and barely recognizing the woman staring back.

I thought: If I make it through this, I want to make recovery a little easier — and a lot more dignified — for the next woman who walks this path.

That’s how KickIt Hospital Wear was born — out of necessity, hope, and the desire to bring comfort, confidence, and functionality together in one thoughtful collection. And from there, we quickly recognized the unmet need for our Recovery Wear collection as well, so that the millions of women wondering what to wear during chemo or what to give their loved ones have a go-to place.

Why This Coverage Means So Much

Media coverage like this isn’t just exciting — it’s powerful.

Every time a local news station or community publication shares our story, it helps reach the women who need these solutions most. There are so many patients, survivors, and caregivers who still don’t know that adaptive, beautiful recovery clothing even exists.

The MySuncoast feature truly captured what makes our line special — it’s designed by women, for women, to bring comfort, dignity, and beauty not just to cancer patients, but to anyone recovering from surgery, going through treatment, or managing a chronic condition. And they make meaningful gifts for those who want to support the women they love on their healing journeys.

It’s awareness like this that helps us continue our mission:
To restore dignity.
To offer comfort.
To remind women that even during recovery, they can still feel like themselves.

A Heartfelt Thank You

I want to sincerely thank the team at ABC 7 MySuncoast for shining a light on our story and helping spread the message of what KickIt stands for.

Thank you for showcasing the importance of patient-centered design, for giving a voice to survivors, and for reminding our community that healing isn’t just medical — it’s emotional, physical, and deeply human.

And to everyone who’s reached out after seeing the story — your messages, encouragement, and personal stories mean more than words can express. You are the reason we do this.

The Journey Continues

At KickIt, we believe healing deserves to be met with grace, style, and compassion. Whether you’re preparing for surgery, starting treatment, or supporting a loved one through recovery, our goal is to make that journey a little easier — and a lot more comfortable.

We’re so thankful for the growing awareness — and for every person who helps us share this mission. Together, we’re changing what recovery looks and feels like for women everywhere.

Look Good. Heal Better,
